The super-sleek Calidus is AutoGyro's two-seat tandem gyroplane with an enclosed cabin. When it was released in 2009, it was the world's first formally certified factory-built gyroplane of this configuration. It is loved not only for its looks and for being amazing fun to fly, but also by flight schools, sightseeing operators and law enforcement agencies.
Sharp aerodynamics make the Calidus a fast cruiser, and its 74-litre fuel tank gives it a huge range — extended further by the optional 100-litre tank. The large, clear canopy gives pilot and passenger an amazing 360° view while keeping them warm, dry and comfortable.
Ventilation? Yes — in several ways
- fully enclosed canopy with ventilation windows,
- open-sided canopy, where large side windows let in plenty of air,
- high-headroom canopy for very tall pilots,
- fully open-top canopy.
Like every enclosed AutoGyro aircraft, the Calidus also has a proper heating system. Whatever the location or season, there is always a way to keep warm — or keep cool.
