Award-winning design

Within a few months of its market premiere in 2017, the new MTOsport received the Red Dot Design Award in the product design category — one of the world's largest and most renowned design competitions, with more than 18,000 entries a year from over 70 countries.

In 2018 the MTOsport 2017 was also honoured with the German Design Award from the German Design Council, a foundation established in 1953 on the initiative of the German Bundestag. Of around 1,900 nominations, only the best 90 products are named award winners.

Pure craftsmanship — Made in Germany

The tandem-seat MTOsport 2017 is probably the best gyroplane of its kind in the world. Stunning to look at and to fly: smooth, low-vibration, fast, comfortable and economical. A machine to envy — yet a real workhorse.

The rugged stainless-steel airframe, proven over 20 years of service, withstands the rigours of day-to-day work. Maintenance is easy, with quick-release cowlings giving access to the low-maintenance Rotax 915 and 916 series engines. Aluminium rotors are chosen for robustness and reliability — unlike composite rotors, they do not suffer in high and low temperatures or from rain erosion.

Safety and approvals

Occupants are protected by 4- or 5-point harnesses, tested to world-class standards, and by multiple detailed safety systems: dual oil pressure, coolant temperature and fuel warnings, fire warning, multiple radio fitment and ADS-B.

The MTOsport 2017 carries many national approvals and is unique in the gyroplane world in holding a full standard category of airworthiness.
