Cavalon Sentinel
Side-by-side camera platform gyroplane — your eye in the sky.
Side-by-side camera platform
The Cavalon Sentinel can be equipped with day and infrared cameras — the ideal solution for missions such as search and rescue, surveillance and inspection. Such proven equipment can track cars and read licence plates from 500 ft AGL (above ground level), and effectively detect the heat signatures of people and vehicles on the ground.
The cameras are generally 2- or 3-axis stabilised units with 360° continuous rotation, digital auto video stabilisation and target tracking. Optical zoom reaches up to 30×, and most infrared systems provide 4× zoom. With the Rotax 915 or 916 iS engine and an optional autopilot, the Cavalon Sentinel has all the capability your mission needs. Different mission objectives call for different cameras or on-board systems such as LIDAR scanning — with many such systems already in service, AutoGyro's advanced engineering team provides the systems integration required. AutoGyro is the proud supplier of fully equipped Cavalon Sentinels to the Turkish Jandarma.
Example application areas: ground vehicle tracking and recognition, search and rescue, (wild)fire spotting and tracking, general surveillance, traffic law enforcement, media aerial photography, border patrols, overhead line and pipeline monitoring, and close protection.
Our platform for law enforcement
The Cavalon 915 iS is the ideal platform to carry camera equipment and provide aerial support and overview for officers on the ground. AutoGyro has created a superb cabin “office” and will tailor one to your needs. Our law enforcement models provide aerial support by day and by night — all are available Night VFR certified in accordance with BCAR Section T, CRIE-01 and FAA Primary Category.
The Cavalon Sentinel offers:
- police radio system integration with live number plate recognition and a 7″ control screen,
- third radio integration for auxiliary communications,
- integrated camera display panel and controls,
- removable passenger-seat control stick,
- heated seat with lumbar support for comfort on long missions,
